Event Introduction

Tampere Jazz Happening is a four-day music festival. The event features many kinds of jazz music. It is suitable for everyone, even if you are not familiar with jazz. You can explore the programme and listen to music on the artist pages. Click the band’s image or name on the programme page.

Venues

In 2025, concerts will be held at Paja Kongressi, Telakka and Tampere Hall. All venues are close to each other in the Tulli area of Tampere. International artists perform at Paja Kongressi and Tampere Hall. Finnish bands perform at Telakka. On Thursday, the programme also includes a film screening. It will take place at the Niagara cinema. You can find addresses, travel instructions and accessibility details on the info page.

Paja Kongressi

  • Entrance from Ratapihankatu.
  • Seating is unreserved. You may choose your seat freely. Standing is also allowed at the edges of the auditorium.
  • Please remain quiet during performances.
  • Snacks and drinks are available. The same building also houses the Grill It restaurant and Paja Bar.
  • Cloakroom fee is included in the ticket price.
  • Festival products and earplugs are available for purchase.

Telakka

  • Entrance via the terrace from Tullikamari Square.
  • Seating is at tables. You may choose your seat freely. Standing places are also available.
  • Seats fill up quickly – arrive early if you wish to sit.
  • Please remain quiet during performances.
  • Drinks are available at the bar counter.
  • The kitchen is open until 21:45.

Tampere Hall

  • Entrance from Yliopistonkatu.
  • Both paid and free cloakroom options available.
  • Concerts take place in the Small Auditorium on the 2nd floor.
  • Seating is unreserved. You may choose your seat freely.
  • Please remain quiet during performances.
  • Drinks are available during the breaks.

Arthouse Cinema Niagara

  • Entrance is from the inner courtyard of Kehräsaari.
  • Ticket sales open half an hour before the screening.
  • You may choose your seat freely.

There are nine events during the festival:

Thursday

Film screening at Arthouse Niagara at 18:15, followed by Q&A with the film director Mika Kaurismäki.
Opening concert at Telakka from 21:00 to 22:00 (1 band)

Friday

Evening concert at Paja Kongressi from 19:00 to 00:30 (4 bands)
Evening concert at Telakka from 21:00 to 01:00 (3 bands)

Saturday

Afternoon concert at Paja Kongressi from 14:00 to 18:30 (3 bands)
Evening concert at Paja Kongressi from 20:00 to 00:30 (3 bands)
Evening concert at Telakka from 21:00 to 01:00 (3 bands)

Sunday

Afternoon concert at Tampere Hall from 14:00 to 18:30 (3 bands)
Final concert at Telakka from 20:00 to 21:00

Doors open one hour before each concert.

You can buy single tickets or a festival pass that gives access to all events.

Tickets for Sunday’s concert at Tampere Hall are also available from Tampere Hall ticket office (external link) and Lippu.fi (external link).
Cinema tickets are sold by Arthouse Cinema Niagara (external link).
Thursday’s and Sunday’s concerts at Telakka are free.
