Tampere Jazz Happening, the flagship of modern jazz, was established in 1982. Initially organised by the jazz club Break in collaboration with the City of Tampere’s cultural board, the festival has grown into one of Europe’s most captivating jazz events. Its bold and high-quality programming showcases the influence of concert music, rock, and world music on the evolution of modern jazz. The festival is held annually at the turn of October.
